Aussie Land part deux

Things are going well in Aussie Land. We've seen kangaroos, wild horses, and men in really short shorts. All were rather impressive if not frightening. Internet access is sketchy at best, I'm in an internet cafe right now. We travel to Perth tomorrow, and hopefully they'll have internet. Anyway, I've been in a saphire mine, a diamond processing plant, and tomorrow we shoot pearls. Very excited about all of this. Accomodations have been a bit like dorm rooms. The unrenovated, 1970's variety. Think Western or Eastern KY Universities circa 1999. ANYWAY, yesterday I took part in an aboriginal ceremony. Quite fantastic. They burned gum tree leaves and chanted a protection prayer over us.

The terrain here is amazing. It looks like all the pics and footage I've seen of Africa. Very flat with brush everywhere, and giant ant hills. We've seen lots of bush fires as well. There is one enormous one that has been burning for 4 days now. You can see it in the distance, especially at night while driving around. Night life is pretty active here, you have to be very careful of the kangaroos. They'll jump right out in front of the car. I saw wild horses and oxen yesterday as well. Too much to write about. I'll post pictures the next chance I get. Cheers!
